Because in the early 1980s, an ambitious idea emerged: could a QUADRO platform support the weight of an elephant?
As luck would have it, a renowned circus was performing in Hamburg at the time. Towards the end of summer, contact was established to test this bold concept.
Cita, an experienced female elephant weighing no less than 2400 kg, was entrusted with the task, and a special platform was constructed. The pipes and connectors used were standard QUADRO components, identical to those still produced today. The only addition was an acrylic plate placed on top of the platform for reinforcement.
The collaboration between Cita, her handlers, the photographer, and the QUADRO platform came together perfectly, resulting in two truly unique photos—taken over 40 years ago!
